Bunny Hop

The bunny arrived at the mall this weekend. Both boys were pretty excited about it. Matthew even made up a dance for the occasion.
The photo session started out pretty good. Both boys were in a good mood but for some reason we couldn't capture two smiles at the same time. I had the photographer keep trying. And trying. And trying.
But after a few minutes, Matthew got distracted (shocking, I know). First he wanted to high-five the bunny.
Then he wanted to check out his tie.
Then there were a series of silly faces, leg-kicking pictures. Then Noah gave up - and when Noah gives up, he lets everyone know about it.

So, in the end, I chose the one picture where both boys are smiling and looking at the camera. Sure, they were both squiggling and Matthew has sort of a half-pucker going on, but I'll take what I can get!

Winter is hanging on...

We're supposed to get some sort of weather "event" tomorrow night into Wednesday. Or Wednesday into Thursday. The forecasters can't nail down a day, or even what exactly we might get, so they're all just saying a "wintry mix" which means it'll be cold, rainy, icy, and/or snowy. Any way you look at it, it's winters way of hanging on just a little bit longer. That's March in New York for you.

But I'm doing my best to cheer spring on - the get Mother Nature motivated to change our wintry fate. How you ask? By decorating of course. How can Old Man Winter resist the charms of felt pastel eggs.
And little chicks I bought at the dollar store and have named Matthew & Noah.
The boys are getting in on the act too - Noah proudly wears his ears at home.
We've even been watching springy movies - we just got Peter Cottontail. You can head on over to Simply Stacie to check out my review and enter to win a copy for yourself.
Hopefully all the forecasts are wrong. I want to wake up tomorrow and have Linda Church on channel 11 tell me that it's all been a big misunderstanding and that we're going to heat up to the 50s and 60s over the next few days. It won't happen, but I can always hold on to hope!

Spring is in the air...

There's something special about changing the calendar to March here in NY. It gives me hope that spring is truly on its way (regardless of what those little rats predict each February). The days are getting longer. It's a tad bit warmer. Come of spring!!

In the meantime, while we wait, there's always funny stuff on Pinterest to look at!

Just Like Big Brother

As the days/weeks/months go by, Noah is becoming more insistent in doing everything Matthew does. From what he eats, how he plays, and even how he talks. He is always looking to Matthew to copy everything he does. Even the little things - like decorating book bags at the Kidgets mall event this weekend. Noah was more interested in watching Matthew than concentrating on his own.
And after years of watching Matthew spin the big wheel at the mall...
Noah got his own chance.
He even mastered the art of eating with chopsticks this weekend, just like his big bro.
I'm starting to understand why people ask me if they're twins!

My Funny Valentines

After a morning of little presents, Valentine's Day specials on Disney Junior, and some spirited coloring, me and the boys went out for a little treat - lunch at McDonald's. Noah kept yelling at me to look at the woman who was sitting at another table - hence the pointing and open mouth here.
Matthew loved his Skylander gift enough to bring him along to our little lunch. Not sure why he held up his fry when I took this picture, but it works.
Love certainly was in the air today. We all had a great day loving on each other.
Tomorrow it's more loving at Matthew's little preschool party. Then a busy 3-day weekend that will end with professional photos on Monday. Hope you all had a great day. Enjoy the long weekend!

Nemo Found Us

Well, it could've been worse. We got about 15 inches of heavy white snow as Nemo passed through our town on its way to wreak havoc in MA and RI. We kept power and we were able to dig out just fine this morning, so like I said, it could've been worse! And after a snow-day lunch of mac and cheese and hot dogs, we hit the hills of the school yard for some sledding this afternoon. Matthew was out-of-his-mind excited about it.
Even Noah was psyched.
Maryann joined us for the afternoon too.
These three bananas really had a blast.
My dad even tried to get in on the fun. But he wiped out halfway down the hill on his first run and gave up.
Matthew would have stayed out all day if we let him. But the promise of hot chocolate lured him and the other two maniacs inside.
Now that we've had our fun, I need a few days of above-freezing weather to get rid of all this stuff. Those stinkin' groundhogs promised me an early spring and that's what I want!
