Randomness

I've been a bit busy this past week. Matt and I tried to spent a lot of time together and with the boys as we could, since he was scheduled to return to work today.

Last Tuesday we went to Woodbury Commons with Ish. We started our trip by stopping at Starbucks for some coffee. Which I guess I do a little bit too much with Ish - you can see how comfortable he is there!
Of course he doesn't mind the little pit stop because he knows he'll get the "pink pop"
Other than that, we tried to get a lot of chores done around the house and just tried to survive life with a newborn and a toddler. This included short trips to BJs, special mommy-Ish lunches out and a lot of "pass the baby" between me and Matt.

Noah - as cute as he is - has been a handful. At first we thought he had a cold when we came home from the hospital. Then we thought we were dealing with colic. We were up every 2 hours at night and were trying our best to console an inconsolable baby during the day. Turns out our little guy has a milk allergy. So the milk-based formula we were feeding him was basically tearing up his insides. We switched to a hypoallergenic formula and made a trip to the chiropractor and are on the track to helping our baby feel better.

This Thursday Noah turns one month old. We have a pedi appointment that day and then the chiropractor again on Friday. Ish is spending quality time at Grandma and Grandpa's house while I stay at home and try to help Noah through this rough patch. Matt is doing his best to get out of work at a decent time to get home to help with the nighttime routine. And that is basically the exciting life we're living right now! I hope to have pictures and more exciting tales to tell in the near future. Until then - it's all about just surviving each day!

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day - to my mom, to my grandmas in heaven and to everyone out there who mothers.

Today has been a good day. Ish told Noah he was his best friend.
Both boys cooperated for a group photo (well, Noah not so much, but at least he wasn't crying or making his famous "grumpy old man face").
And right before we left for lunch with my parents, Ish very sweetly kissed his little brother. Right on his eyeball.
My boys. The only two people in the world who know what my heart sounds like from the inside. Thank you for making today a great day Matthew and Noah.

Now if only Ish would take a nap....oh well, can't get everything I want today!!

Special Treat

Maybe Ish and I drove into town and went to Starbucks today when we told Matt we were only going to BJs to get milk.

Maybe I got Ish a Cake Pop and maybe I got a Venti Skinny Caramel Macchiato.

Maybe we ate and drank the evidence in the car.

Maybe I forgot to get rid of the evidence before Matt took my car to Home Depot.

Maybe me and Ish have our own secrets.

Maybe. :-)

One week old

Ok, technically I should have posted this yesterday when he was exactly one week old, but better late than never!

Noah is 8 days old today. And while we're still trying to figure out the sleeping at night thing, everything else is going great. We had his 1st pedi appointment on Monday and he is now 8lbs, 6oz. He eats like a champ, naps during the day, has longer and longer awake time during the day (which I hope starts to help with the sleeping at night thing!) and Ish is loving his role as a big bro. He insists on kissing and "holding" Noah. It's cute how much he wants to help out with Noah - although I'm sure Noah could do without the "big push" Ish gives him when he's in his swing!

We call Noah a lot of names - names we used to call Matthew - Bubba, Bubby, and yes, we even find ourselves calling him Matthew (we've had to correct each other a lot with that one!!). The nickname that seems to be a keeper is Noah Bear. I don't know where that came from, but it's cute and it seems to fit him. I also tend to refer to him as "The Donald" when his hair gets all crazy and Donald Trump-like.

I'm doing my best to try to take a bunch of pics of Noah and Matthew. So far, not so good, but hopefully as time goes on and I'm not so tired I'll be back on my picture-taking-game.

Stay tuned!!

Birth Announcements

I'm actually ahead of the game this time around. I ordered birth announcements today. I ordered some when Matthew was born but never sent them out. So I thought I would try to incorporate Matthew into this card as well. I don't think I could have asked for a better picture to use!
