Not that he needs any more toys...

I mean really, you've seen the playroom, he already has a few thousand. But, he's cute. And he really really really really loves all his toys. So I might have to indulge his new obsession: Toy Story.

I'm not really sure how he got into Toy Story, but here we are. All he wants to do when we get home is watch the movie and play with his little action figurines. He loves talking about Woody and Buzz and making dinosaur noises whenever he sees Rex.

So, being the enabler I am, I've been checking out the latest Toy Story toys on Amazon.

I'll have to get him a talking Buzz - he's his favorite.
He has a real love for Woody as well.
I'm a Slink fan, so this one is more for me than for Ish, but he'll still get a kick out of it.
No collection would be complete without the RC car.
And they have some cute little playsets that I think Ish would love (he's into playsets now).
I guess we'll have to wait and see what Santa brings.

Thankful Thursday

It's Veteran's Day once again. A day to honor those who serve and who have served. My dad and both my grandpa's served with the US Navy. Matt served with the US Army. Matt seems to think Ish is West Point material, but at the moment he screams and runs away from his 11-month-old cousin Maryann, so we'll just have to wait and see if he grows up to be Army material. I think he'd be a better fit at my Alma Mater personally, but we have time to figure that out.

So, Happy Veteran's Day to all who served and serve. I am thankful for the freedom I have and I know that sacrifices have been made for me to be this free.

And a special Happy Veteran's Day from Ish too - Iona College, class of 2030 ;-)

Brush Brush Brush

I'm happy to report that Ish is now totally into brushing his teeth every night (he fought us there for a while). He's so excited that he doesn't even want to wait for us before he starts climbing his little Matthew step stool.
He usually likes one of us to help start him off. We tell him he has to brush until we count to 10. So we start the countdown...
Somewhere around 3 (teeth-brushing counting is very slow!) Ish takes over brushing duties.
And then, his favorite part - the rinse and spit. Although he really doesn't understand the spit part yet, so he just takes a swig of water and washes off his brush.
Another big boy milestone complete!

Oh, in case you noticed, those marks on his face are from his earlier adventures with a pen. Needless to say, bath time that night really focused on face scrubbing.

The toughest decision of the year: Christmas Cards!

This is our third Christmas as a family. And every year I send out holiday photo cards because, well, Ish is cute! This year I'm going to use Shutterfly for my cards.

I have a tough time deciding on pictures to use for our annual card (especially since we all know that Ish can be a beast with Santa and for the camera in general). I have one picture from our Lake George vacation that's a definite for this year - it has Ish and Matt in it.
Hopefully Ish cooperates with the whole Santa thing this year and I get a few more shots to include.

Of course my other big problem with Christmas cards is choosing a design to use - there are too many choices! I like these from Shutterfly's selection of Christmas Cards:

And these from the Christmas Cards Photo collection:

And I think I might get fancy with my holiday Christmas invitations this year (for my annual holiday brunch that I host with my friends that I see so rarely during the year). I like these options:

Even though you may think it's a little early to think about holiday cards, you have to trust me when I tell you, I already feel like I'm a month behind!!

Wish me luck!
