Ish got a boo-boo yesterday. A cut on his knee. You can see it here in this picture. You can also see that it didn't bother him too much.
But because it was on his knee it would bleed every time he bent his leg. So I had to put a bandage on it. Needless to say, he was not happy about that (he has a weird aversion to all things sticky).
I tried to comfort him and tell him that band-aids were our friend - in fact even Elmo needed band-aids for his boo-boos.
Ish then got double angry that I was torturing both him and his buddy Elmo with sticky weapons of destruction. There was much screaming.
I later found Elmo on the floor, passed out from all the noise and commotion.
Yes, there was that much drama in my house over a band-aid.

Friday Freebies
I found a pretty cool image this week - haven't seen this one on Google before today. Thanks for keeping it current Google peeps!
Here are a few good deals for your Friday:
50 Free Pampers Gifts to Grow points: WELCOME2PAMPERS
Coupon for $1.00 off any Dan-o-nino product (Ish LOVES these!):
http://bricks.coupons.com/Start.asp?bt=wg&tqnm=zenocfx1600762&o=63645&c=DD&p=lMntNB7c
Kids eat free at Ikea this weekend (like I need an excuse to go to Ikea!). Details here.
Free 1-year subscription to Working Mother (I get this and it's a pretty good read).
Better Homes & Gardens has a new program called The Motherboard - apparently there's opportunity for receiving special offers/free samples, I figured it couldn't hurt to sign up!
Free Snikkidy product coupon - Ish likes these and so do I! Check out the link here on Money Saving Mom. They carry these at my local Babies R Us as well as Shoprite. Check your supermarkets organic/healthy eating aisles.
Money Saving Mom has also compiled a nice list of preschool and kindergarten resources - lots of good printable learning materials. Check it out here.
That's what I got for you this week. Being that it's the heart of summer I've seen a slow down in a lot of freebie offers. Plus, there are a lot less offerings for toddlers as there are for babies, so it's a little tougher to find quality goods.
Special shout out this week to two great bloggers who passed on awards to me this week:
Mama's Little Chick passed on The Blogger Buddy Award. I enjoy her blog and would like to pass this award right back to her!!
And when you get a chance, check out aspiring novelist and an awesome blogger, The Little Blonde Girl. Check her out and let her know what you think of her writing! She passed on the Versatile Blogger award to me - thanks lady!!
And don't forget to join in the Chickadee blog hop today!

CSN Review: Rev 'n Ride
When I had the opportunity to pick another item from CSN to review I had a tough time deciding what exactly to get - another item to organize the playroom, something for the kitchen, something for me, for Matt, for Ish? After a lot of clicking around I landed on something perfect for the boy who has everything - his very own foot-powered car!
Ladies and gentleman, I introduce to you Ish and his American Plastic Rev 'n Ride. How stinking cute is the smile in this picture?!
Ish loves cars, so I knew he would get a kick out of being able to steer and move around in this car. Of course of all the pavement at the school yard, he insisted on trying to drive in the grass.
The engine of this car actually comes apart like a puzzle - and it comes with a little plastic wrench and screwdriver to play pretend mechanic. Ish is a little too young to understand that part just yet, but in a few more months I think he'll get a kick out of that feature.
The buttons on the steering wheel have 6 pretty darn realistic car sounds. Ish enjoys being noisy.
This is Ish's "How you doing?" look - a cool little dude in a cool little red car. You can see his little feet in this picture - it sort of reminds me of the Flintstone's car.
Ish wanted to give "Elmos" a ride too - right into the grassy patch of course (doesn't Elmo look like he's screaming "STOP!!")
The car held up to Ish's punishment. Elmo survived too. I'm impressed with how sturdy this little car is.
The trunk even opens (storage for the little tool set as well as some of Ish's smaller toys).
So, final verdict, it's a keeper! At only $36.99, this is a great deal. I see at least 2 summers worth of fun for Ish and I think it's sturdy enough to survive and be passed down to younger kiddos. It holds up to 42 pounds (I think we have a while before Ish hits that!) and is recommended for ages 1.5-3. The only con is that assembly is a little time consuming (the pieces arrive on corrugated plastic and it was a little tough to detach each piece with precision).
Disclaimer: While I was given the product to review by CSN Stores, the opinions in this post are 100% mine (and Ish's!). We were not compensated in any way for our review.

Tag Sales Make Me Tired
Well, not me, but certainly Ish. He was pooped after only 2 tag sales today. But he was happy with his score - a Winnie the Pooh Boo to You Halloween video. Which I'm sure we'll have to watch 5,000,000,000,000 times leading up to the holiday.

Wayback Wednesday
It's Wayback Wednesday again! This week's theme: Favorite Halloween Memories. Before Ish was born I wasn't really into Halloween - if I was talked into going out on October 31st I wore black pants, a black shirt, a pair of kitty ears and tail. Every time. Not very original, but a classic.
So today I take you back to October 31, 2008. Ish was 6 weeks old. I remember because that was the day of my 6 week check-up. I dressed Ish in a Little Monster outfit (complete with pumpkin socks) and showed him off to the nurses and doctors who just thought he was the cutest thing. Look at that face - I don't remember his face being that chunky!
When we got home from the doctor I changed Ish into something more comfortable. A monkey suit. Look at that face and tell me he was unhappy!
And, because I was on maternity leave and had some time on my hands, we had a costume change later in the day (look at the little Tigger feet!).
This past Halloween Ish was a puppy. This coming Halloween he's going to be a giraffe. This year he'll also be able to eat (some) of what he's given when we Trick or Treat at the mall. Next year he'll probably want to pick out his own costume. Sigh...it's going by too fast!

Water World
I love water, I love water, playing in the water, lalalalalalalala
Oh, I bet I could make a big old mess with this! Hey dad, are you wearing that orange t-shirt again???
I want that toy...no sense in walking around this little table, I'll just reach a little bit...
Almost got it...
AH HA! Gotcha!!
Momma - I'm wet!!! Save me!!!
Now that's what I'm talking about! Much better. You always know what to do momma. You're smart.
Ok now, back to the mayhem!!

Radio Flying
We finally busted out the Radio Flyer wagon Ish got for Christmas. We chose a nasty humid day with the threat of rain. Timing is everything!
Ish was excited to take on a new adventure.
After I took this picture I yelled at Matt - is he or is he not ALWAYS wearing that orange t-shirt?? It may or may not have a laundry "accident" this week. Don't tell him. ;-)
The excitement of rolling over the bumpy pavement in the school parking lot made Ish's day. I'm glad there are seatbelts on this thing.
After riding for a while, Ish decided he wanted to pull the wagon.
He managed to get himself into the grass patch rather quickly.
But he pushed and pulled and was determined to figure it out for himself.
After a few minutes he finally managed to get himself back on pavement!
Then it rained. So we went to the mall. The end.

If it's Friday, it must be FREE!
Ok, not the greatest image, but Google needs to get on their game and edit their "free stuff" images. I picked this one because it's so dang hot here in NY that the idea of "cool" and the image of water is kind of refreshing.
