Wordless Wednesday (kinda): Noah Funnies

Just some funny stuff I've come across while searching for Noah's party goods:

Feeling Better

On Saturday the boys took a turn for the better. Just in time for Seuss Story Time at Target. Noah was suspicious of what was going on.
He was interested in sitting in Matt's lap and listening to the story for about 2 seconds. I scooped him up and bounced him around for the rest of the time.
But Matthew got into the spirit of story time. Even telling the woman who was reading the book that yes, he would try green eggs and ham on a boat.
After story time we took a spin around the store and Matthew saw a Captain America stuffed doll/pillow. He then insisted in pushing his new friend in the cart.
Then we headed to Chili's for lunch (Matthew had a hankering for a quesidilla).
And that about sums it up. Cross your fingers, but I think the boys are on the upswing!!

Sicky Sickersons

We can't seem to kick these nasty germs in our house. Doesn't help that we've had a mild winter - no freezing temps to kill the nastiness. So we've been battling boogies, runny noses, fevers and a general malaise for a few weeks now.

Matthew has bursts of his usual hyperness, but more often than not you'll find him like this at home:
He's been low-key for us. Playing/reading on the iPad, asking us to read a ton of books, sitting in our laps.
Noah seems to be on the upswing of things. For the past few days he's been a little better. He's been the active one in the house lately. Touching every single toy in the house.
And generally being his normal disastrous self.
I was planning to take Matthew to the Target Seuss Reading Day tomorrow. Hopefully we'll get there. The lure of Seuss goodie bags is strong!

The long weekend

Not much to report. We're still trying to kick these stubborn germs that have been making the rounds in our house. So, although we had fun, we were pretty low-key for a holiday weekend.

We ventured out to the mall on Saturday. Matthew scored a pretty neat Spider Man balloon.
And an Alvin Build-A-Bear.
Noah can't be trusted with balloons just yet, and he's a tad young for the whole B-A-B experience. But he's officially 10 months now - so his time is getting closer.
I love my Noah Bear, but sometimes I wonder what is going on in his head. When I saw this picture, with Matthew in the background, I couldn't help think that Noah was planning some revenge on his brother for the whole Matthew-gets-everything-and-I-get-nothing scenario from the mall the day before. He's a sneaky one this Noah Bear.
Matthew was spared from any evil plots. For now.
For the most part, there was quiet play this weekend.
Some light reading.
And I finished my photo wall.
We ended the long weekend being saved by Batman Captain America.
Now, it's Tuesday. With a Monday feel. But that means that Friday will get here all the quicker. :-)

My Funny Valentines

Noah woke up super early today. I'd like to think it was because he just couldn't wait any longer to give me a Valentine's Day kiss.
Matthew jumped out of bed excited for the day. First on the agenda - a special gift from grandma and pop pop. This afternoon, his first ever Valentine's Day party at school. It's a big day for my little guy.
We had a special pancake breakfast this morning to celebrate. And yes, that is a pile of cardboard recycling in the background. We care about the earth here at the Ish house.
No holiday picture montage would be complete without a crying baby photo - so here you go!
Don't worry, it was only a short-lived tantrum because I took one of Matthew's toys away from him. I'm pretty sure he still loves me.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Monday Monday...

We had another nice weekend here in NY. We were supposed to get a "storm" on Saturday with a few inches of snow, but it petered out and only stuck to the grass. It was cold, but it was bearable. We did a lot of important stuff over the weekend:

We did a lot of sticker work.
We played - in the kitchen of course. Doesn't Noah look sinister here? As if he's plotting something in his little baby brain.
We conquered the bad guys and threw them all into Gotham City jail.
We took naps. And woke up happy.
We switched Noah to the convertible car seat - which makes him a happier car baby.
We wrestled.
And we got haircuts. Note to self: stop asking Matthew to say "Cheese" when taking pictures.

Party Planning

I thought planning Noah's 1st birthday would be easy. "Noah's Ark is a well-known theme for parties" I thought to myself. Myself was wrong. Noah's Ark is a VERY POPULAR baby shower theme apparently (especially among those expecting twins). I get it, 2 animals, 2 babies - the math works. But what about all those little kids named Noah? Can't they have a Noah's Ark party too??

Apparently not.

I am having the hardest time finding decorations, invites, etc. Everything says "Baby Shower" or "Welcome Baby". So I'm doing my best to hodge-podge the whole thing. Taking partial sets of items that have a Noah's Ark theme that don't say anything about baby/babies and mixing them all together. I'm going to tell people I did the whole "non matching" thing on purpose.

A few items I've snagged so far (you can see them all on my Noah Pinterest board):

The invite. Not Noah's Ark, but there are two animals, close enough.
The smash cake topper. Found it on eBay. A little on the baby side, but cute nonetheless.
Cupcake toppers. Another eBay find. I found cake plates and napkins to match, so it's a score!

The matching plates/napkins:
Oriental Trading had a few cute things for the goody bags: Noah's Ark stampersand Noah's Ark stickers.
I don't know what to do about decorations. The cute banners and hanging spinners I've seen have the words "baby" on it in some form or another. And I need more for the goody bags. So if you see anything out there that's cute and Noah-ish, let me know!

On a positive note - I have found a TON of stuff I want to get for Matthew's Super Hero 4th birthday party!

And a good weekend it was!

Matthew and Noah got a pet - the world's largest red Angry Bird!
We introduced Matthew to the wonderful world of Wii.
I made some good luck cupcakes for my parent's Super Bowl party.
And our NY Giants won the big game!
Doesn't get better than that.
