The long weekend

You just can't beat a 3-day weekend. It feels like you're stealing time. We made sure to pack a lot of fun into ours. We started out on Saturday with breakfast at Panera. We all enjoyed our bagels.
Noah REALLY enjoyed his.
We wound up at Cracker Barrel for lunch after running some errands. I hope they get these little peg games at a discount - my boys are good for losing the pieces during the course of a meal.
Sunday was all about bouncy fun for cousin Sam's 4th birthday.
Noah got to hone his Nerf shooting skills.
And Matthew jumped, bounced, and played with everything in the place.
Today we're taking it easy. I'm doing some cleaning, we had a nice BBQ lunch, and Matt is out now cutting the grass. We're enjoying our freedom today.

Happy Memorial Day! I hope your weather today is a fantastic as ours is and that you can get out and enjoy the day.

Mother's Day on City Island

We had fantastic weather for Mother's Day. And the 2 beasts were in pretty good spirits - both agreeing to pose for a nice picture.
After taking a few nice pics, we decided to try our hand at some self portraits. The boys always get a kick out of doing this.
Here's Noah giving us his best Zoolander impression.
We had a great meal as always at Johnny's Famous Reef on City Island. Lots of seafood, and and ice cream dessert.
Noah was more a fan of the ice cream than the seafood.
After lunch we fed the seagulls our leftovers.
And we generally just hung out and enjoyed the weather.
Can't beat City Island for some good seagull watching.
Now we start our countdown to Memorial Day weekend and we start our summer fun!

Random Instagram

Things have been status quo here lately. We're winding down our school days, enjoying the warmer weather, and just generally hanging out.

The warmer weather means bubbles are back in season. The boys enjoy it as an after dinner treat.
We made our first trip of the spring/summer season to Stew Leonard's last weekend - they really have the best selection of fruits, veggies, and meat. And lots of fun stuff to entertain the kiddos.
Noah is acting all 2-going-on-35 lately.
Matthew was a duck in his little school play last week. As he walked out and saw me he shouted "Mom - I'm a duck!". He was a darn good duck too.
And since Matthew is 4-going-on-40, he gets a few perks of being the older brother. One of those perks, being allowed to stay up a little later than little brother. Tonight he chose some Wii games to play before heading to bed.
This weekend has some fun stuff going on, including our annual Mother's Day trip to City Island. I hope you all have a great weekend - and Happy Mother's Day!!

Farm Boys

The weather has been fantastic lately, so we ventured out this week to Muscoot Farm for our first trip of the season.
There were lots of new baby animals to see. Some just a few days old.
The boys were less scared of the cows this time - probably because they weren't mooing much.
The baby cows - too cute for words. Noah kept yelling "BABY!" at all the little animals. Some of them yelled "BABY!" right back at him (you know, in their own language).
Both boys insisted on some play time on the wooden stage. Matthew is doing his Ninjago dance here.
Matthew is still about 9 hands tall. For a boy of 4, that's not too bad.
Of course no trip to the farm would be complete without sitting on the old tractor.
I'm looking forward to more trips this season, and the return of the farmer's market. Pickles for everyone!
